Today has blurred into last night as I had very little sleep. My mind was going round in circles, not from worry, but from excitement. I chose to use the wee hours of the night to get an extensive project done and yeah it is finished.
Part of my happiness was the joy of hearing from a friend struggling with strong addictive behaviors. This friend has been sober for 6 whole days. One day at a time. I rejoiced with her!
My joy this morning was made up of sweet moments with my hubby, John and a cup of freshly brewed coffee. There is nothing like this aroma in the morning with my favorite man’s company. I am reflecting on the joys we have shared together, including the amazing blessing of seeing God’s handiwork together.
A longtime friend called this am. It is amazing how this friend always seems to know the right time to call. We had the joy of sharing, praying, laughing, crying, and being quiet together. A precious moment!
These glimpses of friendship “flesh out” the biblical loyalty in “A friend loves at all times…” Proverbs 17:17
