A Safe Place

ComfyAs I am sitting in a really comfy chair, drinking red velvet french-pressed coffee, pondering the week,  my thoughts are drawn to goings-on this week.

It has been a week of highs and some conflict moments.  Also, the realization of weakness with some minor health struggles.

The details are not important.  The significance of the week is that throughout it all I was hidden in the safety of  God,  in Christ, and nothing can touch me as I rest there, in His loving and strong arms.

I will share a significant moment;

John and I sometimes have moments of conflict (yes really!!).  One significant moment this week was that during a time of communication struggle John stopped and reminded us of the fact that we love each other,  we both love God and He called us to this marriage.  This was a very safe place.  No matter what conflict happens within this, we are safe! Wow, what a beautiful and comforting thought.

We also did not run away from each other in frustration during this
“conflict.” We actually, in the quietness and midst of frustration, asked God what He wanted to show us.

When we get God’s perspective on an issue, which will never conflict with His Word, it is Truth and His thoughts penetrate our hearts and change us.

    What a different place this world would be if we could all resolve our conflicts the way you and John did! I will try it next time! Thanks for sharing!

    I agree. Thanks for sharing. I do not know any married couple who never has conflicts.
