Life is Full of Choices

The fact that people do have choices in life is often overlooked in a society, which promotes the “fact” that people are victims of their circumstances.

The concept of forming a mission around “choice” grew out of the life and work of a  couple of missionaries working with “At Risk” kids in East LA.

They formed The Three Cornerstones and The Four Core Needs.  These were initially used with children and youth.  Now we are using them as discussion and counseling tools with adults (Christian and not yet Christians) as well:

Cornerstone Number One – Empowerment

Life is full of choices, and the choices I make today will determine the qualities of my life both now and in the future.

Cornerstone Number Two – Responsibility

Life is full of choices, and the choices I make today can affect the circumstances of my life and other people’s lives both now and in the future.

Cornerstone Number Three – Freedom

Life is Full of choices, and even though I have not chosen all the circumstances of my life, I alone determine its qualities, because life is full of choices, and the choices I make today will determine the qualities of my life both now and in the future.

The Four Core Needs:

Affection

Boundaries

Consistency

Discipline
