The Choice to be Gentle

Eph 4:2, “with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,” (ESV)

A couple of days ago I was deeply challenged!  Something irritating had happened and  I was sooo very quick to place the blame on my beloved husband.  Well, yes, he had done something and it was irritating but did he deserve the tone of condemnation and harshness that I bestowed on him.  I was convicted!  Did he act out of a purposeful intention to make my life really difficult? No. Did he want to hurt me? No.  Was he equally as frustrated with his action? Yes.

Did I show him the grace my Lord shows me? NO.

Lord, please help me choose gentleness of tone and graciousness of spirit in communicating with others.
